The Federal .327 Magnum
They finally did it. They finally made a .32 caliber cartridge that is actually pretty potent and has some stopping power.
The Federal .327 Magnum is supposedly all that and a bag of chips. From what Ive read on this new round is that it outperforms the .38 special as well as the 9mm Quite a bit of information on this new stout round here: http://www.chuckhawks.com/327_federal.htm And here: http://www.shootingtimes.com/ammunition/st327_110707/ As well as here: http://www.bluesheepdog.com/2007/11/...num-cartridge/ |

I wonder how long it'll be before that bad boy makes it to my rental shop.

Very cool! Been wondering what my next wheel gun would be.

Re: The Federal .327 Magnum
I veiw this as nothing more then a bored manufacturer creating a "new" cartridge that is just more of the same. If you have a 38 special loaded to P+ or a 9mm, what are you really gaining by having a 327 mag?? Nothing really. Just an attempt by a manufacturer to drum up business by catering to guys that need the newest thing on the market even though they baically have the same thing in their safe already.

Re: The Federal .327 Magnum
Just what we need, another redundant cartridge. I'll take the .357 Magnum loaded with 125 gr JHP thanks. It's not so much the caliber, but shot placement, regardless of the target.
I'm sorry, but we've just had too many new calibers that are nothing but marketing. They don't need to reinvent the wheel. Remember the rifle calibers they did this with a few years back. SAUM, RSSM and the rest of the alphabet soup. Stick to common calibers with good bullets, they have stood the test of time. |
